Fine Arts
The Instrumental Music Program at Western School of Technology & Environmental Science offers a wide variety of courses to accommodate the musician's needs and to fulfill the Fine Arts credits required for graduation. There is a gifted and talented music program at WSTES which is very popular! The preliminary course, Introduction To Music Technology fulfills 1/2 of the graduation requirement for a technology credit. The elective courses which follow are Music Tech II and III. Students learn about using MIDI and computers to create original recordings and compose their own songs. Concepts of digital audio recording, sampling, mixing, and acoustics are explored.
