Instructions for Setting Up Your Teacher Web Site

 

Go to the Intranet:

 

1) Click on Internet Explorer

2) If you are not on the Baltimore County Web Site, go to http://www.bcps.org/.

3) Click on the yellow "employees" tab near the top of the page

4) Go to the middle of the page and click on http://intranet.bcps.org/.

5) Log in with your normal login.

 

Set Up Your Web Site: (Heading for Your Page)

 

6) Look at the left navigator bar and under "Just for Teachers," click "Create Your Own Class Web Site."

7) You should now see a page that looks like this:

8) On the left navigator bar, click "Design Elements."

9) You will see a page that looks like this:

Republish Reminder: If you make any changes to a design element (add links to left navigation bar, change site name, etc.) be sure to use the Republish Tool listed on the left to Republish Content to any published pages. Failure to Republish will cause the changes to appear only on pages that you publish after you make the change!

 Add New Design Element


 

 

10) Click on yourlogin Secondary Loc Site Name.

11) You will see a page that looks like this:

WARNING: Do not remove or change the layout of a design element! Doing so will negatively impact the appearance of your web site. Use PREVIEW, EDIT and SAVE only please!

12) Click the "Edit" button.

13) You will see a page that looks like this:


Local SiteName Text:
Note: Website Style Class = Loc-SiteName


 

14) In the box, type the heading for your web site, like the one above.

15) Click the "Save and Exit" button.

16) This will return you to the "Design Elements" page. Click the "Save" button.

17) You will be on the same page. Now you will create your page.
