Tickets are $10. Tickets will be on sale during Spirit Week.
Spirit Week activities are planned for the
week leading up to the football game on Friday, October 23rd and the dance on Saturday.

On May 30th, 2009 the football coaches from Western will host a Bull Roast to benefit the Chris Mason-Hale Foundation from 7-11 p.m.

Ticket Cost is $50 and includes all you can eat and drink. There will be a live band, gaming and raffled sports memorabilia.

Thursday, May 14 - At the 21st Annual Tech Awards Dinner sponsored by the Tech Council of Maryland,
Kim Bickerstaff was awarded the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) Educator of the Year.
Ms. Bickerstaff was nominated by the MDBio Lab staff. She was one of 5 finalists, from around the state.
The Science Department and all of Western are very excited for Kim to be awarded with this honor.

Western School of Technology & Environmental Science takes great pride in the level of expertise demonstrated by our students on the Advanced Placement Exams.
It is important that students and parents are aware of the deadlines and fees regarding AP exams.
Registration for Advanced Placement Exams must be completed by March 20, 2009.
The following is a list of important steps and deadlines in the registration procsess:

A non-refundable total fee of $86 will be charged for each AP exam. Please make checks payable to Western School of Technology.
A fee reduction per exam is available for students with acute financial need.
Students who are on free/reduced lunch or who receive state medical assistance should see Ms. Tavernia in the Guidance Office. These waivers are available on a first come first serve basis.

Students must fill out the registration form and return it to Mrs. Worthington by MARCH 20th.
The registration form must include your student’s $86 fee for each exam he/she is taking.

Senior football stand out Chris Mason-Hale suffered a spinal cord injury during a game in August.
Chris has returned home after months in the hospital. His health is improving every day, but he has a long way to go.
He undergoes physical therapy daily. Chris still hopes to graduate with his class in June.
Western is holding a dance and fundraiser with proceeds going to help Chris' family. Show your support for Chris and attend the dance.

Computer Science A teaches Java programming language with an emphasis on object-oriented programming.

These waivers are available on a first come first serve basis.

A non-refundable deposit of $42 per exam is due on February 29th with the
Registration Form. The remaining balance of $42 per exam is due
on March 14th.

Students need to complete the registration form and return it to
Ms. Tavernia by February 29th. The registration form must include
a non-refundable $42 deposit for each AP exam.

High School Assesment Exams will be administered to selected students during the next two weeks.
