5 Students Earned Top Ten Status at NLSC

Five BCPS students, all from Western School of Technology and Environmental Science, placed in the national top 10 in their events at the 54th Annual National Leadership and Skills Conference (NLSC).

The honored students are:

  • Peace Arobieke – 6th Place, Health Occupations Professional Portfolio
  • CharNae Brown – 6th Place, Job Skill Demonstration A
  • J’Mari Romain – 7th Place, Technical Computer Applications
  • Vivekjyoti Bannerjee &
  • Ya’akov Goldberg – 9th Place, Interactive Application and Video Game Development

At the conference, held June 25-29 in Louisville, Ky., the Western Tech students were competing among 6,400 other student champions from all 50 states, Puerto Rico, Guam and the Virgin Islands. More than 100 Maryland students competed in 90 Career and Technology Education (CTE) program-aligned competitions, and brought home a record-breaking 27 medals.
