Western Tech French Medal Winners

For three years in a row, Western Tech's French students have participated in the National French Contest or Le Grand Concours--an annual competition sponsored by the American Association of Teachers of French. Students  of French in grades 1-12, in all 50 states and abroad, take a written test and compete against students with similar educational background for medals and certificates.

116 Western Tech students participated in this year's competition. 18 students earned medals for their performance, while 20 students were recognized under honorable mention. Western Tech currently offers six levels of French Language Acquisition and focuses on proficiency and acquisition through authentic resources.  By end of Honors French 2,  many students can converse  in the target language on a variety of familiar topics.

“It’s really neat to see how we compare to other students nationally,” commented Sreeyasha Thapa, level 2 bronze medal winner.

“This is one more way students can remain competitive on college and job applications,” explained Monsieur Olive, the French instructor at Western Tech.

Félicitations, les élèves!  Bravo!
