Welcome to Western Tech! Congratulations on your acceptance of a seat in Western Tech’s Class of 2030. Magnet Offers and Acceptances
Parents can access admissions decisions by:
If a child has been accepted to one or more programs, they have 10 days to confirm their selection with the magnet office. You can accept or decline seat offerings in the application system: https://bcpsmagnetapplication.schoolmint.com/login You MUST confirm with the BCPS OFFICE OF MAGNET PROGRAMS or via THE APPLICATION SYSTEM, NOT WESTERN TECH, following the directions in the admissions email.
- If you are offered seats in more than one program from the initial offering on February 20th, you MUST ACCEPT one program and ALL OTHERS WILL BE DECLINED. Once you decline a program, you CANNOT change your mind.
- If you are offered only ONE program from the initial offering on February 20th, but you are waitlisted for others, you can ACCEPT that program. If one of the waitlisted programs opens up to you later, you can DECLINE the original program you accepted and ACCEPT the program offered from the wait list if you want to OR you can keep the original program and DECLINE the seat offered from the wait list. Again, once you decline a program, you CANNOT change your mind.
If a child has been placed on the waitlist, you can expect that waitlist seats will start being offered around March 10th:
- You can see your wait list number from the initial offerings in the EMAIL sent to you-it will not be on the dashboard yet.
- You should check your email daily to see if a seat has been offered to you and follow any directions given by the magnet office.
- If you have questions about the wait list or placement on the wait list, you MUST contact the BCPS Office of Magnet directly. Western Tech has no control over the wait list. You can contact them at 443-809-4127 or [email protected].
- If you are looking for your child’s Wait List number AND/OR their assessment scores, these can be found in the decision email sent to you from the BCPS Office of Magnet Programs. As a reminder, this email is sent to the email address provided on the student’s magnet application.
Students Accepted to Western Tech
Once you have accepted a seat to Western Tech, you can expect the following:
- Western Tech will email accepted students in May with information about enrollment and our Welcome to Western Tech Night, which will be held on Thursday, June 4th at 6 pm in the Gymnasium. This information will be sent to the email address located on the magnet application, so parents should make sure that is what they are checking.
- Western Tech will send additional information by email in June. This will contain enrollment information and documentation, as well as other materials and information. It will be sent to the email address(es) located on the child’s magnet application. If the family anticipates an address change, they should contact both Western Tech at 443-809-0840 and the BCPS Office of Magnet Programs at 443-809-4127 or [email protected] to change their address.
